It is said this is the place the sea god favors, and his spirit infuses every drop of water within it. It is because of this latent magic that the fish are so bountiful and the weather so mild, for the most part. But it's storms are strong and unpredictable. The sea gets its name by the wandering mirages and ghostly visions many sailors claim to have seen on their journeys across it. Men, women, children, animals, cities reborn atop the water for a split second then gone the next. Some become fully corporeal for a matter of moments, to shout a warning or beg for a favor, before being swept away by the salty breeze once more. Many legends spawn from these sightings. Many, in fact, are true.
