The Holdurin Plains
A lawless frontier cut in half by the stone road leading from Holdurin's Rest's northern gate to Rendgarde's southern. The entire place is lawless with a few spots of people trying to eek out existences in the plains. Minimal farming is done here, given that there is little soil, mostly just dirt, but field giants wander the plains, rare but not unheard of, and bandits have an iron grip on it, led by a Bandit King who oversees smuggling operations, runs protection rackets, and, most of all, runs illegal underground bare-knuckle fight pits.
Devilfolk
There are occasionally reports of the Plains giving birth to demonic creatures of fire and brimstone. These are mostly fabricated myths. The devilfolk, as they're referred to, are simply the spawn of bandit wizard experiments with human DNA and the blood of field drakes, resulting in red humanoids with horns and lashing tails. They're built to survive the harsh sun and blowing dust of the plains, but are no more demonic than the average person.
