Dragons

When The Fae reach a certain age or level of strength, they decide to go on a journey of self-discovery. They must journey far to find the stone attached to their type, and, once they find it, they must fight a mental battle with the stone itself. A fae will put his mind to it's full power, struggling against the spirit of their very kind within, and only one that truly understands themselves will be able to defeat it.

Once they do, they are given great power. The power to become a dragon. Their wings will change as well, becoming more draconic in nature.

Kirandur does have other dragons, though, though they're typically called drakes. So Field Drakes and River Dragons may share names and appearances, but are not the strong, intelligent kind The Fae become. They're more beastly and lizardlike than a greater dragon.
