Illeskir
Illeskir was the first continent discovered when explorers left Klagrond hundreds of thousands of years ago. Most of the settlers of Illeskir were elves, so much of this continent is wooded. The forests are thick and hold great magical power, with small civilizations, cities, and towns forming amongst the tangled trees. The history of Illeskir alone is rich and complex, so I won't detail that here just yet. But the center of the continent is taken up by Verantos, the mighty forests, with human cities bordering it along it's coastlines. The lumber exports of Illeskir have created some of the fastest ships, strongest bows and other weapons, and tallest towers in Kuloran. They trade more extensively with some island nations to the north and east, but the western and southern coasts are shadowed by something mysterious that many haven't the courage to explore. Illeskir is a continent of adventure and discovery, for those brave enough. It is said that at the center of Verantos, or somewhere nearby, a tear in reality leads to the world of the fey, suffusing Verantos with magic and hidden wonders. Sometimes sinister. The main attraction, though, are the legendary Tombs Of Green, a catacomb of buried tombs where the original 9 elven druids, who created the great Verantosi city of Woodrite, are buried. That city has fallen into ruin over the years, and a corrupting mist has formed around it. It is believed a corruption deep within the tombs is the cause of this. Druids, wizards, and clerics of New Woodrite have tried to purge this corruption many times over the years, with little, if any, success. So, it has become a popular place for adventurers to explore. None have emerged alive. At the center of Verantos, there lies a shrine to Astarielle. From this shrine runs the mighty Eilancrost river, running west through Verantos, emptying into the sea at the west of Illeskir.
