The White Hills
Just past the northern reaches of Yggdranel, we come to a hilly landscape of pine and spruce, which just so happens to be snowy eight months out of the year. This region is known as the White Hills. At it's most northern edge, a pine forest, thick and silent, grows from the western reaches of the Stormshatter mountains, all the way to Klagrond's west coast against the Sea Of Hiding. It is known as the Gardewood. The northern reaches of this pine forest grow up to within a mile of Moralon Etherhal, and the forest acts as a guard against the creeping influence of the Moranak. The farmland south of the Gardewood thrives, harvesting sap from the trees and selling them in markets in Oakanrel, Rendgarde, Kuloran, and small villages in the area. The syrup made here is a delicacy, and a home staple, all across the heartland of Klagrond. The farmfolk here have also mastered the art of scents, selling pine-scented candles along with their syrup. When the snows hit, this region becomes a picturesque landscape of wintry beauty, shrouded in white. Artists from across Kirandur paint this beautiful scene and sell their work for great amounts of money. In a world of legends, this is a legendary sight to see. A few elves have moved into this region, preferring the hard work and hardy lifestyle to the warmer climates of Yggdranel's southern and western reaches. They have built a small town along the southern borders of the Gardewood, known as Pinecrest. It's the largest town in the region, and, over the years, it's been labeled the region's capital.
