Woodrite

An ancient city of great beauty, Woodrite was once the capitol of Verantos in a sense. Soaring towers of river stone and wood were seen for miles, even above the powerful, monolithic oaks of the Verantos forest.

It was originally a city of holiness, a dedication to the nine elven druids that created the place. Their bodies were buried beneath the city, their holy bones blessing the city streets with natural beauty and fertility.

Sometime, though, that holiness was warped. A mist began to work it's way through the cobbles, subtly at first, until it was a great, ever consuming fog that stole the beauty of the city and ravaged it's citizens. It was the Moranak, the corrupting mist thought contained to Moralon Etherhal, brought here somehow, accidentally or intentionally.

Those who were corrupted marched on a keep in the forests, and a man by the name of Elias Koehl stopped the army's march with his small force contained there. But he was killed in the process, and it is said his ghost now rides that site, a guardian of Lekyros.

Woodrite was abandoned, and the mists were content to ravage it's former beauty. A smaller, less extravagant city was built far to the east, and the survivors of the calamity call it New Woodrite.
