Rendgarde

Rendgarde is a strategically placed military outpost turned city, right at the center of Klagrond proper. To it's south and southwest, a fertile, picturesque land of pastures and farms, rivaling The White Hills far to the northwest. Beyond that lies the Holdurin Plains, with Holdurin's Rest far at it's southern end.

To the east lies the Sea Of Shifting, and to it's north, the wasteland taken over by goblins who have come down from the Stormshatter Mountains and dug themselves in there. The mountains themselves are to the north of that, constantly keeping northern Rendgarde in their shadow.

To the west is Yggdranel, the forest where the elves make their homes. Oakanrel is it's seat of power, hidden somewhere to the northwest, not far from The White Hills.

Rendgarde itself is a fairly standard city. It was never built to be beautiful, it was built to be functional, and that it is. The center of the city is taken up by the Fortress Of Rendgarde, usually controlled by the general of Ryvalen's armies, a lord in their own right. To the south is the great market plaza, surrounded by taverns and brothels and inns, a decidedly dirty and common place, though not entirely. The guards have a strong presence here, with the main guard office being contained just inside the southern walls, much like their cousin Kuloran to the east.

The eastern side of the city is cleaner, with the University At Rendgarde making it's home here. The building is strangely beautiful, by Rendgarde standards: A four-spired keep of stone, painted blue and gold, surrounded by a short curtain wall. Within those walls, lush gardens and carefully maintained walkways crisscross the quiet university grounds.

To the north and west is where the nobles and merchants live, with their various shops and manses. The upscale medical facilities can be found here, and a small temple, offering places of worship to all of the Gods Of Kirandur can be found here as well.
