Feyrekrahg

Feyrekrahg is a volcano on the continent of Wyndrakis, long dormant and hollowed out. It was the original site for the Stoneshire Academy, but due to a variety of factors lost to time, it was abandoned. Left to it's own devices.

Feyrekrahg was, millenia ago, hollowed out and wrestled into dormancy by powerful mystics, leaving it bound and ready for use. A group of mystics studied the particular magics that bubbled up in place of the lava, using them to experiment with pocket dimensions and reality bending. Eventually, though, they gave up for reasons unknown, and left the project to whoever found it next. For a time, no one did, and the binding magics began to fade. Dimensions bled into one another, or began to fail entirely, bleeding beyond their borders into Kirandur's reality.

Then, rich miners found their way into Feyrekrahg, and saw great potential for land sales. It was decided, through years of bureaucratic discussion, that Feyrekrahg would become a prison. The metal bridges that had once criss crossed the huge hollow crater were turned into it's bars, re-inforced with a magical dome. The pocket dimensions were left to fester. And once a prisoner went in, they didn't come out.

Since then, Feyrekrahg has become a place of disparity. Prisoners hold their own created ranks, joining gangs and fighting for supremacy in the crater. The guards, living on the slopes of Feyrekrahg, care not at all. They only exist to send new prisoners in, and to keep prisoners from getting out. Once you're in Feyrekrahg, your fate lies with the creatures it contains. It would be best to burn in the lava first.
