Orcs
Orcs
Dwarves have formed a deep friendship with orcs over the millennia. Generally, dwarves are the soldiers that fight in battles far from home, while orcs make sure they have a home to return to. Orcs are exceptional rangers and monster hunters, and some of the most legendary monster slayers are of orcish descent.
Orcs are also fantastic farmers and herbalists, cultivating potions and other brews to use in monster combat, or as antidotes to their poison. Orcs are the only people who have made an antidote to Laxeiorin poison, but it does not come cheap and is dangerous, and challenging, to make.
Orcish vintners are legends across Kirandur. They make a very strong spiced wine, cultivated from the sour grapes they grow near their homes. They trade it readily, and have become quite prosperous in the making.
Appearance
Orcs are a tall folk. They average about six and a half feet tall, and build muscle quite easily. They are a race of people that are bigger in the bones, hardier and stronger than most. They have a rich, wood brown skin color, with hair that is usually darker: Brown, black, darker blond or auburn. They have ears that are more lupine than humanoid, a face that is broad with a heavy jawline and sloping forehead, and bright, intelligent eyes that range from blue to red to green to yellow.
Their most defining facial feature, though, are their horns. The males have longer, straighter horns, topping out at about two inches in the most extreme cases, while the females have shorter, thinner, spiraling horns that top out at about an inch and a quarter in extreme cases. These horns are no longer used for combat primarily, but many orcs will decorate them as they can.
