Seabreak Hold

Seabreak Hold is an ancient fortress, built off the western coast of Hakaoros. It is positioned in the sea roughly thirty miles from the shipyards at Grandmast, but it was not built by Hakaoran hands.

The ancient structure was discovered and renovated by Hakaoran navy. The fortress is built directly into the sea floor, which, out this far, is over a mile down. Massive amounts of magic are used to reinforce the lower levels, and their windows, against the thrashing currents and crushing pressure. It extends up through the surface of the sea, stretching another 300 feet into the air, before culminating in a massive lighthouse observatory at the top. The Hakaoran Navy took control of it, repairing the old docks that were rotting on the structure, and the keep became a popular meeting space for the leaders of the six legions to meet for private meetings, Hakaoran ships to stop for repairs, and a base of operations for the anti-piracy activity in this region of the sea. It also acts as a defense against any foreign navy that might approach from the west.

The lowest levels of Seabreak Hold remain sealed by magic. Whatever lies there is still alien, though it has remained dormant. Numerous attempts have been made to unweave the barriers, though many Hakaoran mages believe that it would be unwise, for if those barriers crumble, so too could the whole fortress.
