Valyg's Bay

Valyg's Bay was built in 882 AB, named for an orcish sailor who built a trade network between Golindray and the mainland. Valyg was a warrior of some renown as well, and helped clear the wild forest that grew where the city now stands of any truly dangerous creatures.

Valyg's Bay is a sturdy port city, built due east of Rendgarde. Most people traveling off of the mainland to the east will do it through here, though smaller port towns and villages can be found all along the coast to the north and south of it. The Shoviaad River runs through it's center, emptying into the bay to the east.

Trade is the main purpose of Valyg's Bay. Goods are shipped into the harbor, then floated down the river to Rendgarde, where they can be spread from there. Ships also leave for Golindary often, and frequent changes in militia between here and Kuloran occur.

Valyg's Bay is also the basis for the Ryvalen navy. Their base is built in the northeastern section of the city. Though few ships are kept here, it is here that officers and sailors report for assignment. Most of the fleet is kept in Kulor's Reach near Kuloran.
