Verantos
Verantos is the mighty forest at the center of Illeskir, hiding many secrets, wonders, and, yes, horrors. Though many of it's pathways may seem normal forest paths on the surface, they're far from it.
It is said that at the center of Verantos, or somewhere nearby, a tear in reality leads to the world of The Fae, suffusing Verantos with magic and hidden wonders. Sometimes sinister. The main attraction, though, are the legendary Tombs Of Green, a catacomb of buried tombs where the original 9 elven druids, who created the great Verantosi city of Woodrite, are buried. That city has fallen into ruin over the years, and a corrupting mist has formed around it. It is believed a corruption deep within the tombs is the cause of this. Druids, wizards, and clerics of New Woodrite have tried to purge this corruption many times over the years, with little, if any, success. So, it has become a popular place for adventurers to explore. None have emerged alive.
At the center of Verantos, there lies a shrine to Astarielle. From this shrine runs the mighty Eilancrost River, running west through Verantos, emptying into the Sea of Shifting at the west of Illeskir.
