Astarielle
Astarielle, Goddess Of Water
Appearance
Astarielle is the only goddess to ever rival Eludora in beauty. Tall, statuesque and graceful, the goddess of water moves with a flowing grace that only a river could have. She wears a dress formed of flowing water, always surrounded by the gentle trickle, ebb, and flow of water wherever she goes. Her eyes are the clearest blue, full of kindness and healing. She often carries with her a crystal bottle in the shape of a raindrop, and from it, she dispenses blessings.
Relationships
Astarielle is the wife of Vasarion, and the only being capable of tempering his rage. She is a close friend to the goddess Eludora, and the two of them often spend time together, talking, laughing, and simply enjoying each other's company. A garden needs water to flourish, after all.
Dwelling
Astarielle lives in the underwater keep with her husband, Vasarion, deep beneath the waves. She spends more of her time in the gardens, enjoying the life around her, and the feel of cool water upon her skin.
Tenets
Astarielle believes in regrowth and rebirth through water. She teaches her followers to grow and change, and to cleanse themselves of wrongdoings through action, and, of course, she will say with a twinkle in her eye, a good bath never hurt anyone.
Ways Of Worship
When sailors worship Vasarion, they worship Astarielle. It is her gentle touch that tempers the sea god's rage, often saving the lives of sailors and fishermen. She also often acts as a buffer between Vasarion and Xyranthien, so a violent storm becomes a gentle rain at her behest. A clear cup of water left overnight is often a token of goodwill towards the goddess, and she accepts these with joy, often feeling genuinely touched by the gesture.
