The Eilancrost River

The Eilancrost River is a blessing placed on the world by Astarielle. She wanted to create a place wherein her followers could swim, fish, and drink with safety. It is her power that keeps the river flowing, even across the flat lands it occupies.

It originates in a hidden clearing deep in Verantos, where a shrine of stone and crystal is built in her honor above a sparkling blue pool. The river flows from this, wending it's way across Illeskir, and finally pouring into the Sea of Shifting. Astarielle placed her blessing in this way and quietly left it. She is no goddess of vanity, and didn't feel the need to name the river after herself. The elves named it upon it's discovery, and named it "Eilancrost", which, in Elvish means, "holy purity."
