Creatures Of Kirandur
The Creatures Of Kirandur
Kirandur is a wild place, when you dig deeper. Here, there will be minor details on various fauna one could find in the wild, and perhaps even tame.
Forest greatwolves: Wolves the size of draft horses, often used as mounts. Dangerous to hunt. Summit eagles: Eagles taller than a man and with wingspans up to fifty feet. Considered to be the blessed divine birds of Vyaka. They live in the highest reaches of mountains and are rare. Death crows: Black crows that are thought to be mist-touched. Native and exclusive to the Gardewood. Kyrstag: It is thought that there are only one of each of these beasts in every forest. They stand nearly twenty feet tall to the highest points of their antlers, and are considered to be avatars of Lekyros. Runebat: Familiars for most mages, they are also living creatures that make their homes in caves of any size. They glow a light luminescent green and can deliver vicious, but non-lethal, shocks with their magical bites. Avalanche tortoise: Sixty foot long tortoises that make up small parts of landmasses. They can live anywhere, from hot to cold, as their shells insulate against almost anything. They rarely move, but if they do, they can be devastating and almost impossible to stop if they gain forward momentum. Waste dogs: Popular mounts for goblins of the wastes. They are sandy in color with low, sleek bodies that allow them to blend in and move quickly. The Great Wavecleaver: Only one of these exists. A great tentacled creature, a combination between a shark and an octopus, that patrols the Sea of Hiding. It is considered to be the avatar of Vasarion’s rage. Tuhndvar: A winged horse who’s wings function more for gliding. Tuhndvar are typically the mounts of storm fae and they run on self-made disks of lightning.
