Xyranthien, God Of Storms

Appearance

Xyranthien appears as a tall, muscular orc wearing chainmail of living lightning. He has a great mane of red hair and a beard of similar proportions, and carries a heavy metal spear, flickering with lightning along it's entire length.

Relationships

Xyranthien is a jubilant type. He loves a good competition, and is often in contest with Treloa and Cruxik to see who is the strongest. He loves a good pint of ale and a better arm-wrestling match, and it is said that most of the storms that blow up from nowhere are caused by this.

His legendary mirth is matched by his legendary temper, however. He's a short fuse, quick to anger, and has come to blows with his brother, Vasarion a time or three. He holds a long standing hatred for the god of the seas, though that hatred only serves to empower the both of them, for a storm at sea is a powerful one.

Xyranthien is also not viewed particularly favorably with Melinil, for the storm god loves to hunt, and so do his orcish disciples. Though there is no hatred, Melinil is generally cold towards the god, but understands the natural order of things.

Dwelling

Xyranthien dwells at the center of a great storm, set into a pocket dimension of his own creation. It surrounds his great keep, which is, strangely enough, a mirror image of the Stormshatter Mountains, a place he feels great kinship with. The entire keep spans thousands of miles, and here, he runs, hunts, and smites to his heart's content. Many Storm Fae have been known to make passage here, joining him on his hunts and ascending to new heights of power.

Tenets

The god of the storms preaches laughter in the face of destruction, respect for the dangers it brings, and the cleansing a storm can bring. He tells his disciples to laugh in the rain and sing their hearts out. For if they believe in him, he will never send them to the dreaded hall of Tirangil.

Ways Of Worship

The worshippers of Xyranthien are typically orcish. They pray for the speed of Xyranthien before every hunt, and they call his name when they throw a spear to take down some great beast. Preachers of Xyranthien will deliver their sermons in the midst of storms, and sea captains know to stay in the good graces of Xyranthien while at sea.
